The future of our schools is on the line.
This April, the Francis Howell School District faces a pivotal election that will determine the direction of our schools for years to come. Francis Howell Families is proud to endorse Randy Cook and Ashley Sturm for the school board election on April 8, 2025. These two dedicated parents are ready to fight for our students, empower our teachers, and protect the values that make FHSD a top-tier district.
This election is a swing year. Losing the majority means losing control over the progress we’ve made.
What’s at Stake?
- Financial Stability Without Burdening Taxpayers: Through careful oversight, FHSD has nearly doubled financial reserves, all while delivering three teacher pay increases and keeping taxes low. Randy and Ashley will ensure this responsible leadership continues.
- Parental Rights in Education: The days of schools keeping secrets from parents are over. Randy and Ashley believe parents must remain informed partners in their children’s education.
- Focused Classrooms, Not Politics: FHSD classrooms should be led by teachers, not political activism. Our candidates are committed to academic excellence, prioritizing student learning above all else.
Meet the Candidates
Randy Cook and Ashley Sturm aren’t just parents—they’re advocates for a stronger FHSD. Both bring a passion for education and a commitment to transparency, accountability, and results. They understand that keeping FHSD exceptional means focusing on the basics: smart spending, strong academics, and community trust.
Since election in 2022, Randy Cook he has been a leader in the progress that has been made. He led the call for a State Audit of the runaway construction projects of the previous board, which showed shocking mismanagement and lack of board oversight. Gone are the days of board rubber-stamping funding requests without question and discussion. Randy stopped drastic expanse of screen time in classrooms, favoring hands-on proven methods. He has drawn attacks from progressives and the liberal media as the board has led the state in removing DEI, CRT, and political agendas from our schools; removing age-inappropriate sexually explicit materials; and policies to restrict staff from discussing human sexuality or gender without parental consent. There’s more work to do, and Randy Cook wants to help get it done.
